Crazy
Performed by Pat Benatar
Song by P Giraldo & M Grombacher & F Linx

[As the music starts the camera pans somewhat wildly through Tokyo, finally settling on the roof of a small gambling den and rushing inside to focus on Sano. He sits, propped on his elbow against a table, fishbone in mouth and a bowl of sake in his hand. Megumi appears in the shadows behind him, singing.]

People like to shake you up and put you down
Run you all around, drive you crazy
Like to steal the roses right out of your bed
Get inside your head, drive you crazy

Memories of ways in which Saitoh has made Sano look less than clever flicker across the screen: how he always refers to Sano as "ahou"; how he never fails to point out the flaws in any plan Sano suggests. A super-deformed Sano mimes throttling the former Shinsengumi captain behind his back.

Never really knew what love could be, yeh
Never really thought about you and me, yeh

Megumi shakes her head, laughing slightly, as more images -- this time of her getting the better of Sano -- are displayed.

Crazy -- I really wanna go crazy
Feel like I'm gonna go crazy

Super-deformed Sano throws a small temper-tantrum after another verbal bout with Megumi (which she won), while the rest of the Kenshin-gumi watch with varying expressions of shock. Megumi's fox ears are in evidence.

Crazy -- I really wanna go crazy
Feel like I'm gonna go crazy

Megumi tilts her head to the side as she admires Sano's unsuspecting form -- her attitude says that this kind of crazy might not be bad at all.

Everybody tells you how you ought to be
What they think they see, they can't teach you, no

Super-deformed Sano shrugging sheepishly when Saitoh compliments him on his new technique... then asks him if he's worked on his defense.

Big world on your shoulder, it don't mean a thing
If that song they sing, hey - don't reach you

Megumi scolding him about his hand... over and over and over again, until finally she turns super-deformed out of sheer annoyance.

Never really knew what love could be, yeh
Only want to think about you and me, yeh

Megumi waves her hand, dismissing all of Sano's stupid mistakes. Despite them... well, he is kind of cute.

"Crazy -- I really wanna go crazy
Feel like I'm gonna go crazy"

She mutters.

Crazy -- I really wanna go crazy
Feel like I'm gonna go crazy
Crazy, Crazy
Hey Baby, Baby, oh, oh, oh

Fed up with his own company, Sano exits the gambling den and heads for the Kamiya dojo with Megumi in tow. He slides the dojo gate open just in time for them to watch Kenshin, Kaoru and Yahiko run by. Yahiko proceeds to throw insults at Kaoru throughout the musical interlude, tearing around the yard at top speed in order to avoid her wrath. Kenshin stands by the well and tries to persuade them to calm down, only managing to earn some of Kaoru's annoyance for himself.

Crazy, Crazy, Crazy
Crazy - I really wanna go crazy
Feel like I'm gonna go crazy

Watching her friends behave in a less than rational manner, Megumi smiles.

Feel like I'm gonna go crazy
Crazy - feel like I'm gonna go crazy

If Sano and his stupidity really do drive her over the edge, at least she'll be in good company.
